“Amelia Barry did an exceptional job during her first varsity match, putting up 12 set assists and creating variety in our offense,” said Head Coach Whitney Moore of the Arrows. “The Arrows came out with intensity and no fear for tonight’s match. We competed with WCA in the first two sets with our strong defense and options at the net. Serving could have been a game changer for us as we served with 80% accuracy.”
Tae-yah Johnson led the Arrows at the service line with 100% serving, followed by Josey Ness (89%) and Jacey Schlosser (89%; 1 ace).
“West Central is a very scrappy team, making our hitters work, which they did across the board,” said Moore. :Our back row covered the floor well by anticipating and reading WCA’s hitters at the net. I am very proud of how we played as a team for our first match. We are young with great potential for the season.”
“Our girls have a ton of potential, and I am really excited to see where we go from here,” said Head Coach Amy Linnof WCA. “We will head back into the gym tomorrow to fine tune a few areas and prepare for New York Mills on Tuesday night.”
