James Wiese finished his career strong with a solid 87 on a tight course with some wind at the Section 5A golf meet in Benson.  Wiese finished 13th in the section. His 2-day total was 179 (92 last week and 87 on Wednesday)
Knight Coach Kraig Hunter said, "A lot of guys feel pressure and don't shoot as well the second day so we are proud of James putting together one of his better rounds of the year on this course.  The cut for going to state was 171 so he missed it by only 8 strokes in a over 36 holes.  We are proud of the way he finished his career."
Jackson Merrick finished his two day total at 196.   Merrick shot a 92 last week and a 104 on Wednesday.   Hunter said, "We always say golf is a sport that parallels life so much.  Things didn't go Jackson's way just as it doesn't always go your way in life.  But Jackson handled it with class just like he lives his life.  He had a very solid career and a solid season medaling four times this year."
MACCRAY's Brady Madsen was the individual medalist with a 148, Other state qualifiers were Tyler Lund of Dawson-Boyd with a 161, Britton Conroy Ortonville 169, Nolan Boerbaum of Minneota with a 171 and Zach Werner of Lakeview with a 171.
