Knight seniors Jackson Merrick and James Wiese tied for 6th place both shooting 93's at the Pebble Lake Golf Course in Fergus Falls for the Rothsay conference meet. Merrick won a scorecard playoff claiming the 6th place medal.
OTC won the meet and they were followed by Rothsay, Underwood, Long Prairie-Browerville, WCA and Border West.
Adam Young of OTC took the medalist honors with a 77.
Knight Coach Kraig Hunter said, "That is tough for teammates to have to go to a tiebreaker. It's a tough break for James, but congratulations to Jackson. Both of those guys have worked really hard in the off-season on their swings and with weight training. They have both been playing well in practice. It is tough to judge your game right now as we have played in cold, wet, rainy conditions most days with 3-4 layers of clothes on. Hopefully we'll get some better weather and I expect both of these guys to be shooting in the low 80's and possibly in the 70's at times. We were short a couple of players today only playing with four, so we didn't fair as well in the team standings as we normally do."
The other two scores for WCA were Max Duncan with a 99 and Aiden Winter with a 141.
