The conditions at Balmoral on Tuesday, April 18th were not ideal but the girls all agreed we have definitely golfed in worse. There was a little wind, a feel like temperature of 37 and enough casual water to keep everyone’s socks and shoes pretty soggy. Balmoral is always a bit of a challenge with its trees and with the lack of the roll from casual water it played a little tough today. That being said, Karina Kafka from Ortonville had an amazing day with medalist honors at an 81. The Knights placed third behind OTC and the champions, Ortonville. There were only 4 Lady Knights golfing today. Jessica St. Martin was our number one golfer and earned a ribbon for 6th place with a 106. She felt her long game was her strength today and looks forward to spending some practice time on her short game. The Poyzers were back from their trip and made their 2017 golf debut. Lexi’s highlight was parring hole #8 and felt her drives were “definitely good.” The fast greens gave her some troubles while putting, but she finished with a strong 109 and felt really good about her front none score of 50. Libby shot a 126 and was most impressed with her putting today. Her long game was shortened up by the wet grass and casual water, but dryer days will prevail. Kate Wrolson finished with a 121, experiencing some penalty strokes and trees along the way but had a strong day of chipping and rolling the ball up to the green.
“I feel very lucky to work with such a great group of girls. These golfers are busy students and great kids. They work hard at everything they do and easily see the positives in themselves and others.”
