The West Central Area Knights led 41-24 at the half and built their lead up to as big as 62-35 in the second half going on to win 69-57 in a road game against Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley.
Knight Coach Kraig Hunter said, "We started the game a little sloppy, but ended the first half well to get a decent lead. We did some nice things in the second half to build our lead to 27 points and were able to play all 13 players tonight." Hunter added, "As always, there are several things we have to continue to improve on going down the stretch in February. Two things we are extremely pleased with right now are the intensity our guys are playing with and how we continue to unselfishly share the ball."
The Knights hit 25-50 shots for 50% and 16-26 free throws. They hit 3-10 threes. CGB was limited to 19-58 from the field for 33% including 6-21 threes and they made 13-21 free throws.
Rebounding was even at 38-38.
Leaders for the Knights were Logan Paulson with 27 points, 9 rebounds and two charges taken and Brady Sabolik with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
Jake Combs added 8 points, Aaron Wiese had 6 points, Jack Nelson 4, Dawson Staples 4, Caden Fernholz 3, and Ross Anderson 2.
"Ross Anderson is always a steady force for us on the floor as he also had 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal as well as vocal leadership and guarding their best shooter," Hunter said.
Combs and Nelson each added 5 rebounds, and Staples 4. Nathan Kaye had 2 assists and Fernholz added 2 steals and took a charge.
Scoring for the Wolverines were Lucas Adelman with 23, Hunter Turner 14, Casey Nilson 7, Sam Adelman 6, Bryce Hoffman 5 and Jamison Reedy 2.
