The Frazee Hornets paid a visit to Barrett on Tuesday night where they defeated the West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville Knights by the score of 42-19.
"A Home dual with the #2 ranked Frazee Hornets, a huge crowd, and lots of great wrestling….it was a fun night to be in the WCA gymnasium," commented Head Coach Brandon Gruchow. " Tonight didn’t go our way. Losing by 23 points was not in our plans, in fact losing wasn’t anything we considered, but it’s reality and it was a good reminder that we need to stay focused on the task at hand. We may have underestimated their abilities and may have come in a little overconfident in some of our matches. And in a couple, I know that we locked up under pressure. We only had one pin go our way and we gave up 4. It’s hard to win a dual that way, especially against a team like Frazee. There were plenty of bonus points we didn’t strive for and we gave up too many, Frazee on the other hand did what they had to do to win. They were stingy on the point and got after the pins. Tonight was a good checking, one that I think we needed to be better. Our guys will put this by them and they have already started to identify the things that we need to do differently to find our way to the top. As long as they know what they need to do to get better, have a good attitude, and are willing to work at it…we will get better. Congrats to Levi Larkin for earning his 100th career win. Also, thank you to the parents and fans for all the support, we greatly appreciate it!"
