The West Central Area Knights rolled over the CGB Wolverines on Friday night in Barrett with an 81-47 win. The Knights led 40-26 at halftime.
"We played well tonight," said Knight Coach Kraig Hunter. "We are steadily improving each game. All thirteen of our players played hard from start to finish and there were many solid contributions from all of them."
The Knights made 29-52 shots for 56%, they hit 20-26 free throws for 77%, and made 3-6 threes.
The stingy Knights defense forced 23 Wolverine turnovers and held them to 37% shooting (19-51). CGB made 4-7 free throws and 5-20 threes.
The Knights only committed 9 turnovers and held a 36-24 advantage on the boards.
Scoring for the Knights were Logan Paulson 24, Brady Sabolik 18, Jake Combs 10, Jack Nelson 8, Nathan Kaye 5, Ross Anderson 4, Logan Nadgwick 4, Colton Wutzke 4, Aaron Wiese 2, Alex Endreson 1, and Dawson Staples 1.
Leading rebounders were Sabolik with 8, Nelson 6, Wiese 6, Anderson and Combs 4 each. Anderson had a great night distributing the ball with 10 assists, Sabolik had 4, while Kaye, Caden Fernholz, and Jacob Bright had 2 each.
Steal leaders were Sabolik with 6 and Combs with 2.
Leading scorers for CGB were Lucas Adelman and Hunter Turner with 12 each. Others scoring were Hoffman 7, Gibson 6, Wiegman 3, Cornbellicki 2, Cardwell 2, Nilson 2, and Beedy 1.
